I lost my joomla admin password what can i do? |
OOoops! What were you thinking. Ok Login to your Cpanel, click on phpmyadmin, select the joomla installation database, find and open the users table, open the admin user configurations, check on the password and you will find a strange combination of letters and numbers this is because you cannot get your password back but here is how you will manipulate it. change it to '21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3' without the quotes and click run. Now go to your whatever site dot something slash administrator and use the password 'admin' without the quotes. Wow! you can login again. Now change the password immediately otherwise the lazy hacker will be right there editing your site! Good luck and don't forget your password again, ever! |

What is the basic security practice necessary with joomla? |
Use strong passwords for administration, Use the right permissions for folders and files. Strive to use the latest version of Joomla at all times. There is a lot of help in the joomla forums plus some extra security modules you can use. Backing up your site once in a while is always a good idea; don't forget to simultaniously backup the database as well. |
