What is the basic security practice necessary with joomla?

IF YOU STILL HAVE JOOMLA 1.5 UPGRADE IT LIKE NOW! Use very strong passwords for administration, Use the right permissions for folders and files. Strive to use the latest version of Joomla at all times. Use some extra security modules. Backing up your site once in a while is always a good idea; don't forget to simultaniously backup the database as well. If you create a zip backup of your site, do not leave it at the public_html folder, download it to your computer. A clever person who can gues your zip file will download it and get access to your database configuration.
